Introducing Sunset Rock Cabin!
I started coming down to Kentucky’s Red River Gorge around 2010, vacationing for many weekend visits from Michigan to enjoy the climbing and hiking opportunities. I grew to love the area, and would often daydream about having a place to stay someday… It only took 13 years, but that dream is finally coming true!
After a lengthy process to secure financing and decide on plans and builder, we finally broke ground! The property is in a PERFECT location, and has an incredible overlook that took our breath away the first time we put our eyes upon it.
While I expect to spend lots of time here, my primary residence is in Lexington, and will be for the immediate future. Weekend trips to explore and climb around the Daniel Boone National Forest will of course happen, but the plan is to make Sunset Rock cabin available as a vacation rental for folks visiting the Red River Gorge, for those days and weeks I’m not occupying it myself.
Why Sunset Rock?
The rocky overlook at the end of the cabin property faces west, but it wasn’t until the land was purchased and we took a hike around sunset that we discovered how majestic of a spot this really was. It was so good, it’s already been the location of a few photoshoots for my business!
